What is teeth whitening?
Teeth whitening is a process that makes colored dentine and enamel brighter. This coloring might be caused by inborn defects or by metabolic, pharmacological, accident or iatrogenic causes including fluoride poisoning, use of tetracycline antibiotics during teeth development, porphyry and Erythroblastosis fetalis.
Teeth fillings and restoratives cannot be whitened. After whitening, a filling must be replaced with a new one that corresponds with a whiter color and makes it invisible. Restoratives must be done again to meet the patient’s requirements and needs. If this occurs, we recommend teeth whitening first and then a color adjustment of crowns. The results are incredible!
