How do we whiten teeth?

Each person is as individual as is his or her enamel. Therefore, it is difficult to predict to what level, or for how many grades, the teeth will be whiter.

Based on our years of experience we can say that the best results are achieved with whitening yellow or brown teeth, outer stains or monochromatic teeth.

Gray or bluish teeth as well as teeth with stripe defects, stains, and those of older patients are more difficult to whiten. If the enamel resists whitening, we can whiten those teeth using so called “faceting”.

Patients are examined before each procedure to determine which whitening system will be used. After the procedure the outer part of teeth is cleaned with a special rotating brush and paste to remove any tartar and plaque.

This procedure is painless.

To provide service for a wide variety of patients, we use two types of whitening:

1. Whitening with a plasma lamp “Remewhite”
Clean enamel is covered with a special gel that is heated with light from the lamp. Plasmatic light activates oxygen in the gel and this active oxygen whitens teeth. The procedure takes two ten-minute series and results in a six-shade leap to a brighter color in approximately 80% of patients.

2. Whitening with the “Whitespeed” gel
Clean enamel is covered with carbamidoxid gel for 30 minutes. Approximately 95% of patients get whiter teeth by one to three shades. This procedure is used mainly when the enamel is stained and we can whiten only those spots or it is used as initial whitening when teeth are dark.

Home whitening or “whitening” with the tooth paste is far less efficient than methods we use.
